United States Rewards for DarkSide Operations Information

The United States government has offered up a hefty $10 million reward for any information leading to the identification, arrest, and/or legal processing of DarkSide threat actors. Specifically, the State Department is looking for high ranking leadership affiliates of the group’s operations, as well as information on smaller affiliates of the group, associated to a $5 million reward. The United States claims that a big part of this operation is to hold those responsible for the critical infrastructure attack on the Colonial Pipeline, showing that attacks on vital infrastructure will not be tolerated by the nation. Rewards are being supplied through the Department of State’s Transnational Organized Crime Rewards Program (TOCRP), which is utilized to encourage those with information on organized crime syndicates to come forward and reveal possible unknown information. Law enforcement also has hope that hackers will turn on one another, leading to a massive arrest at a minor cost. CTAPT will continue to monitor the situation and provide an update should there be any significant developments.
